Our New Health & Safety programme at Lough Lannagh Village is now in place. It will ensure that we all work together, guests, colleagues and suppliers alike to make the Village as safe as possible in these challenging times. This enhanced Health & Safety programme introduces comprehensive new procedures in line with HSE, Government, Irish Hotel Federation, Irish Self Catering Federation and Irish Caravan & Camping Association guidelines for Health and Safety in all areas of the Village.
It is our aim to make your stay with us enjoyable and relaxing while keeping everyone safe and creating peace of mind.
Many policies and procedures will be evident throughout the Village, while others will be incorporated discreetly into our service. These policies and procedures will be rigorously adhered to and continually developed as the situation changes. At all times, the wellbeing of our guests and colleagues will be our highest priority so that you can relax and unwind with peace of mind.
We recognise the need for some guests to alter their holiday arrangements due to the current situation and, we will work with all guests to help reschedule dates. Alternatively, we can cancel bookings and hold your non-refundable deposit in credit to use against a future booking with us. We request that you email us at info@loughlannagh.ie for all communication. We are prioritising imminent holidays, so we apologise now, but, other queries and requests may take some time to follow-up. If you wish to cancel, we will note the date of your original cancellation request. If you want to transfer a deposit, please advise of the dates that you want to transfer to.
Please note the following specific procedures which are now in place:
General:
- All stays from 29th June 2020 onward must be PRE-BOOKED & PREPAID.
- Self-Catering Cottages, Touring Caravan & Motorhomes will be checked-in remotely from the comfort of your car.
- Cleaning and sanitising of all surfaces and high traffic areas are being carried out throughout the Village regularly.
- Hand sanitiser stations are available throughout the Village at every necessary location
- Signage is displayed throughout our public areas to remind our guests to observe social distancing and abide by frequent handwashing.
- Doorways where possible will be left open to reduce contact. Any door that must remain closed for health and safety compliance will have a sanitising station located close by.
- When you give us your card details and CVV number this becomes your electronic signature that you accept, on behalf of all in your party, our terms and conditions.
Self-Catering Cottages:
To ensure the highest standards of cleanliness in our rooms, we have implemented an enhanced cleaning regime.
- All additional furnishings and non-essential items have been removed from our bedrooms so we can deliver on our promise of the highest levels of cleanliness.
- Linen will be handled with extreme care to prevent raising dust and potential contamination. Used linen will be washed at a minimum of 70°C for at least 25 mins to kill possible bacteria.
- Guest directories will be replaced with the information provided by email with Video “How To Guides” and our Top things to do in Castlebar & Mayo.
- Cottage Kitchens have non-essential items removed to ensure all kitchen items fit in the dishwasher. All items are washed and sanitised by our cleaning department before your arrival.
- Extra items can be requested during office hours and will be delivered to your cottage.
Touring Caravan & Motorhome Park:
To ensure the highest standards of safety to our guests and staff, we have implemented the following policy for the coming season:
- Prior to check-in, we will pre-register all bookings with the required details: Name, Postal Address, Vehicle registration, Mobile number and email.
- When you give us your card details and CVV number this becomes your electronic signature that you accept, on behalf of all in your party, our terms and conditions.
- Check-in will happen remotely from the comfort of your vehicle. Please phone us once you are outside, you will then be given your allocated pitch number and access to the site.
- This year we can only accept Touring Caravans & Motorhomes that are self-sufficient/self-contained (have on-board toilets and showers).
- We will not have available Public Toilets, Showers or Landry Facilities, unfortunately. It is not possible for us to operate these facilities safely under current restrictions.
- We will have available under the new guidelines: Electric Hook-Up, Fresh Water supplies, Gray and Black Water disposal & Refuse disposal.
- Enhanced hygiene plus social distancing protocols will apply on-site
Lough Lannagh Lodge B&B:
To ensure the highest standards of cleanliness in our rooms, we have implemented an enhanced cleaning regime.
- All additional furnishings and non-essential items have been removed from our bedrooms so we can deliver on our promise of the highest levels of cleanliness.
- Linen will be handled with extreme care to prevent raising dust and potential contamination. Used linen will be washed at a minimum of 70°C for at least 25 mins to kill possible bacteria.
- Daily housekeeping cannot be provided to rooms, but fresh supplies are available on request during office hours.
- Guest directories will be replaced with the information provided by email with the Video “How To Guides” and our Top things to do in Castlebar & Mayo.
- In the room, tea/coffee facilities are available to pre-book and will be replenished upon request.
Lough Lannagh Conference Centre:
We are delighted to be re-opening our conference facilities at Lough Lannagh Village in line with Government phase 3, on June 29th 2020.
To enable us to do this, we will be strictly adhering to all current guidance from the HSA, HSE and Fáilte Ireland on protocols around physical distancing and hygiene.
All of us have re-trained and comply with all the requirements of the HSA, Covid-19 Specific National Protocol for Employers and Workers.
We have now are awaiting our award of the Fáilte Ireland Covid-19 Safety Charter to reflect standards of excellence achieved in this area.
To ensure the highest standards of safety to our guests and staff it will now be a condition of use of any of our facilities that, our clients work with us in ensuring that all Covid-19 restrictions are adhered to and, this will include the following specifically for meetings and events:
- All shared equipment and meeting amenities will be cleaned and disinfected after each group, that will include cleaning and disinfecting conference room doors, tables, chairs, light switches and other equipment
- Individual bottled water will be available for a nominal charge if required. Jugs of water& glasses will not be available for the moment.
- Cleaning and sanitising of all surfaces and high traffic areas are being carried out throughout the Village regularly.
- Hand sanitiser stations are available at every necessary location
- Signage is displayed throughout our meeting areas to remind our guests to observe social distancing and abide by frequent handwashing.
- Doorways, where possible, will be left open to reduce contact. Any door that must remain closed for health and safety compliance will have a sanitising station located close by.
- Our rooms all enjoy plenty of natural light and ventilation – windows and doors should be left open as much as possible to ensure as much fresh air as possible in the room.
- Toilets are available for use on a one-at-time basis with signage to that effect.
- Seating and room capacities will be reviewed on an event by event basis to ensure compliance with current physical distancing.
We offer Food and Beverages in line with current guidelines specifically around distancing and hygiene and this will include:
- All food and beverage items will be individually plated and served.
- Coffee and other break items will be served by employees rather than self-service.
- As we will not be present in the room at your meeting, we will require that the meeting host/facilitator to direct attendees to comply with both protocols of the house and the host organisation. This will include cleaning and disinfecting frequently of surfaces within the room.
- The host/facilitator must keep a log with names and contact numbers of all present. This will remain confidential and retained for as long as is currently required for contact tracing.
- All attending should also complete a self-declaration, in advance of the first day, on their health and on their agreement to abide by all current guidelines with regards to Covid-19
FAQ:
Q: What are my options regarding the cancellation of my booking for holidays up until the 29th of June 2020?
- Lough Lannagh Village is working with all its current guests to ensure we can rebook their holiday with us if this is not possible we will credit their non-refundable deposit to their account to be used for any future booking.
Q: What are my options regarding flexibility/amendment/cancellation of my booking after the 29th of June 2020?
- Lough Lannagh Village is applying its Normal Terms & Conditions to all bookings
- Any New Books made after 20th June 2020 are subject to if the Irish Government impose more COVID-19 restrictions you will receive a full refund.
Q: Will the village be free from Covid-19?
- The answer to this question is that we simply do not know nor can we provide any guarantees as to this. We have also been caught up in this COVID-19 calamity and fully appreciate the necessity for vigilant hygiene and disinfecting however we can only do what is “reasonable” and we will be deploying an enhanced, thorough hygiene regime. Our management team and employees have read and deployed the Fáilte Ireland Guidelines, for each area of our business. There is however also a requirement on each guest to be ‘self-responsible. For example, we would suggest that you also pack additional disinfectant, cleaning wipes, kitchen paper, hand sanitiser and bin bags if you have concerns over this.
Q: What happens on arrival and departure?
- Email/Phone call to agree arrival time – This will be later than our Normal Check-In times to allow for the enhanced cleaning process to take place.
- You will arrive in the Village at an agreed time and from your car, if you are Staying in the Self-Catering Cottages or Touring Caravan & Motorhome Park you will receive Remote Check-In information by phone.
- Each Guest will be required to have completed the self-declaration form prior to arrival at the site.
- Each guest details are required to be provided by email to Lough Lannagh Village to assist with Contact Tracing if required as per guidelines.
- You will have a 24/7 contact number for us and will receive emails from us with all information that would usually be available from reception.

- We would advise you to avoid social media and instead check government guidelines or official channels such as gov.ie, HSE Website, WHO for the most up to date information on COVID-19
Quarantine Requirements for Overseas Visitors:
Overseas guests need to factor in the 14-day self-quarantine requirement on arrival into Ireland. Please be advised that this is in force up until the 9th July and we will not know until the 29th June if it will be extended or lifted.
- We are unable to accept guests if they don’t 14-day self-quarantine as per the guidelines.
- We are unable to provide documentation to authorities that Lough Lannagh Village will be your quarantine location, as we can not guarantee to authorities that you will stay in your accommodation without leaving for 14-days.

As a testament to our Health and Safety commitment and to reinforce the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness, all our team will fully participate in a comprehensive educational and training program on an ongoing basis.
The official health guidelines around the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is under constant review. Lough Lannagh Holiday Village will ensure the supply and strict use of PPE by all members of our team, in all areas as deemed necessary by the HSE and Government ongoing guidelines.
