Festival Breaks Mayo – a celebration all year round
Festival Breaks Mayo. If you’re in the mood for celebration, Mayo welcomes you with open arms. There’s so much going on in Mayo and the west of Ireland right throughout the year. There are a few Mayo festivals that we love to talk about of course but whatever you’re interested in, there’s surely something for you and your group.
The Mayo International Choral Festival runs every May and is based right here in Castlebar. With prices for tickets very inexpensive for world-class choral groups, it’s a festival with a difference. The Royal Theatre is where it all happens so ask us for more details.
RoolaBoola Children’s Arts Festival is one of the leading children’s arts festivals in Ireland and is on in Castlebar every October. It’s got everything from international children’s theatre, music and dance shows, as well as other arts events, including children’s books readings, visual art exhibitions, street performances and lots of hands-on arts workshops in a range of media for children and their families.
Just a short drive away to Westport, there’s always something going on too. From performing arts festivals like Westport folk and Bluegrass Festival to sporting occasions like tag rugby tournaments and walking festivals, Mayo has it all.
And that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Tell us what your group is interested in – music, arts, sport – whatever, and we’ll find a festival for you. Festivals in Mayo are on all year round!
