If you and your gang are feeling particularly active, blue flag beaches are just down the road as are championship golf courses. Angling has long been a part of the visitor experience in Mayo and you’ll find the perfect lakeside spot spot close by.
Mayo has sightseeing and activities of all types. History plays a major role in Irish life and the round tower of Turlough is a wonderful example of a monastic tower dating over 1000 years old. The National Museum of Ireland dedicated to country life and gardens set in modern exhibition galleries and are very close to the tower itself. And all in the shadow of haunting and magical Croagh Patrick – perhaps Ireland’s spiritual heart.
